The hard things
are worth talking
about — together.
Resilient Clinical Counseling was started by Karen Cummings-Wedding after noticing a gap in therapeutic care that specializes in blindness and vision loss.
Why Resilient?
The term resilient means more than just strength, it embodies a person’s capacity to withstand, to recover quickly from adversity, and the ability to return to an original state after being bent or stretched. We wholeheartedly believe that every person has an unending well of resilience within themselves and if provided the right support and resources, they can tap into that well to live the fullest life possible.
Specializations
Therapy shaped around your experience.
No two people share the same journey and it is for that reason Resilient Clinical Counseling exists. We provide therapeutic services from a member of the blind community to members of the blind community and their families.
Vision Loss & Blindness
Losing your vision — whether gradually or suddenly — changes everything. The way you navigate the world, your independence, your identity. This practice was built from the ground up to be accessible, and Karen brings specialized focus to this work.
Medical Trauma
Trauma happens everywhere. Some of it happens in hospital rooms, under fluorescent lights, during procedures nobody prepared you for. Medical trauma is real, and it deserves to be treated with the same care as any other trauma.
